Wildlife You don't need to venture far from the Cottage to see wildlife. Regular visitors into the garden or surrounding fields include: · Hares · Hawks · Roe Deer · Buzzards · Skylarks Nocturnal visitors are: · Bats · Barn Owl · Tawny Owl In the garden are many bird species that were once common everywhere including sparrows, blue tits, great tits wrens, yellow hammers and a variety of finches and several robins. Pheasant wander the roads and come into the garden looking for some of the chicken's feed. Keep an eye out for them when driving they can be a bit erratic. We have a bat detector which allows you to hear the ultrasonic squeaks from bats. Most species of bat use a different frequency to hunt for insects.
